Auf Lager
The Knight of the Witches is a historical fiction novel that explores the unique goals of the main characters and how much each person is willing to sacrifice in order to achieve their objectives when the son of a Teutonic Knight is raised by a coven of witches. This completed manuscript intertwines love, loyalty and betrayal and is 75,000 words. The Knight of the Witches, which is written under the pen name D. Anthony, is set in the late thirteenth century and uses the Christianization of pagan Europe as the backdrop. Heinrich von Plötzke is a child of noble birth that is accidentally born into a coven of cunning women (witches). Although he never learns the craft, he grows up with familial ties to the two sisters that raise him (Rebekah and Sarah) and their niece (Leah) whom he grows to love. Eventually forced to rejoin his own kind and take control of his destiny, Heinrich is compelled to choose between his past and his future. Rebekah Pendle is the loving cunning women who looks after Heinrich and treats him as if he were here biological son. She wants a future for him that involves the coven. How far will she go to protect Heinrich and maintain the purity of the craft? Sarah Pendle doesn't care for Heinrich; she hates all Christians but will go along with her older sister as long as she has to. How much is she willing to risk while trying to destroy Heinrich?
