A Modest Proposal (A Modest Proposal) is a satirical essay written by Jonathan Swift in 1729 The paper proposes the problem of tenant farmers in Ireland who can not feed their children because the owners are adamant about the lease. After discussing the problem, suggests a new solution: parents should sell their children to rich landlords to be eaten. Many contemporaries did not understand Swift's satirical essay Swift and obtained written reviews for his exceptional "bad taste".
